The Pictus Catfish is extremely hardy, active and peaceful. In nature it is somewhat nocturnal. When first introduced to the aquarium it may tend to hide until it becomes accustomed to its new surroundings. However, once acclimatised it is quite capable of looking after itself in a community tank, with a generally peaceful nature. Larger specimens are capable of eating smaller fish, so care must be taken when selecting tank mates.
